Day #2...Seriously

Okay, so I am on day #2 of BLOGGING. What is truly strange, is that I found myself a little excited about the idea of sitting on my couch, laptop in hand, writing my thoughts or funny happenings for the day. Okay, Okay, maybe just the idea of sitting on the couch was what was so thrilling to think about! So, here I sit....FABULOUS.

So...I love to tell about BLOOPERS from the realm of Elementary Education. It always makes me smile to re-read about my students, their quick humor and wit and sometimes just their funnies! I have kept a journal from my beginning years of teaching and it has been extremely fun to remember my adventures.

BLOOPER #1
I have been working on Poetry with my struggling readers to build fluency, expression and comprehension. The kids LOVE it! I decided to have a Beat Nick style Poetry Cafe every Friday for the students to perform their favorite poem of the week. We set up the room in "Cafe Style", I serve refreshments, the students and I wear all black, there is a stool, microphone and spotlight. The kids then to a black beret on their heads and perform. For some reason we started calling the Beret "Ooh La La". As the students walk to the "stage" to perform everyone snaps and says "Ooh La La" or "Right On" or "Let's Hear It"...it really is pretty hilarious.

So today, I am calling my third grade kiddos one by one to perform their poetry, I get to a fabulous little boy and say come get your Ooh La La...he replies...I have had enough Ooh La La today Mrs. A. My mom made me brush my teeth twice, comb my hair and put gel in it, and change my shirt three times, would it be okay for me not to wear an Ooh La La today, I think it would just be too much for me? I couldn't help but giggle and agree that it would definitely be too much for him to do today.

Yes! We've Entered the Blog Arena....

Whatcha Lookin' At...Huh...I know we've been dragging our feet on this bloggin' thing, but we finally got here.

Welcome to the Adams Trio page!

The Trio is Jeff (Husban, Daddy, Architect), Dedra (Wife, Mommy, Reading Specialist), and Ty (resident almost two year old..enough said).

Here is Ty at 23 months (amazing). He was playing in the backyard at Jeff's parents house, in Lubbock, even though the wind was blowing upwards of 50 miles an hour. Gotta Love Lubbock. He can't get enough of playing outside with G and Granna.
